Dave says:
While having a particularly rough ride with the kids... "driving with kids is like driving drunk except that you want to crash." obviously he was being very sarcastic but it made me laugh and I just had one of those drives. Fun! Haha

It always comes back to this . . .
Seriously though. It has been quite interesting how over the past, 6+ weeks now, I can be in the grocery store, in the church bathroom, running through town, or just buying a burger and someone that I know but often times don't know, says something about the ELK.
"Hey, are you the girl that Mshot that Big elk?"
"Did I see you in the paper?"
"Some lady gave me a picture of you that she got from her grandma's neighbor because you were from Kamas and so am I."
This old man at church, Ted, whispers in my ear each time we pass, "Hows the ol' Elk Slayer doin?" then slowly walks on grinning.
IT IS HILARIOUS!!! the people and endless stories that I have met and heard since this experience. I am NO DEDICATED DIE HARD hunter by any means. But I did practice and was in a the right spot at the right time!!!
I was fortunate to get such an awesome animal so close, and then to pull back an arrow at him. And then kill such a thing. Yes it was AWESOME, Intense and nerve racking!! I don't down play any of it, . . Just laugh that I'm a magnet for some I may not have ever spoken to otherwise.?
**SO-I decided to enter a picture of this elk into a photo competition that KUTV 2 news is putting on. If you click on the link next to Elk picture to the right you can take a few minutes to vote/or check out the other people's pics. IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO WIN. ..But I need YOUR help. There are only 4 more days to get like 30 more people to vote. Its worth a try. AND...Hey, I shot this beast with a Bow. That's got to say something when compared to all the rifle pictures submitted.???
Also, since we're "back to the Elk" I decided to post some of the many "real" non cell phone photos from the last hunt and big bull. I never got around to posting them earlier. I also added two sweet videos of THEE MOMENT. (If you didn't see them already.) It was a great time with the pops, uncle Boyd, uncle Myron and sister Shelly. We all had our hunting bonding moments between the 3 trips that it took to finally end in success. Enjoy.!!....or not, if your thinking I'm a crazy animal killing "red neck" girl that should be baking more bread. I do that too.

Big Bull Elk-Breona Carter interview
This is our Absolute Geeky yet So exciting after shot interview. My dad again is behind the camera and uncle Boyd is the dude with his hat strap strung arossed his forehead holding his elk bugle as a mic. Yes we are all just a little excited. My favorite most ridiculous line of the video would be, "heart was pumpin', it was just a shootin'" HAAH. LOVE IT. Love you dad and uncle Boyder for helping a girl out.

Big Bull Elk-Shot by Breona Carter
Dad is behind the camera and I am next to him in a ground blind that we built out of pine tree limbs. He drops the camera in all the excitement and then does some cow calls to try and slow down the bull. The bull ran about 300 yrds down a steep mountain and then fell. Pretty exciting for me and pops. Also uncle Boyd, who was watching from another spot 65 yds away.

Don't forget it
I re-read my post about lack of sleep and the crazy night schedules that parents are prone to AND....I noticed that I failed to mention something very important! Which I'd like to make clear. . . . .in case I was a little to blunt with the trials of MOMs.
You ready.
*HAVING KIDS is BY FAR the BEST and GREATEST thing that anyone could EVER do!!
Yes I know...
The NO sleep, the throw ups, and all other bodily fluids, crying, breast feeding troubles, pregnancy, LABOR for crying out loud...They still don't out weigh the JOYS of being a mother.! At times, of course, it feels like they might!! and I will vent more of those moments, I'm sure. ...BUT if you take a good deep breath and imagine just for a second, life with out the little rugrats.......You'll see that things are just Perfect the way they are!
Well SHOOT. Now that I've hacked up my right swine lung on the computer keys. hahah.(sorry, that's grose)
I will document just a FEW reasons why motherhood is straight up entertaining...for me anyways!
1. Beckham LOVEs movies now. He dresses up. Yells out lines from them. And is a comedian. From ICE AGE: he will randomly be so excited and say "MOM, Diego is AAALLLLLIIIIIVVVEEE!" or "PINNOCHIO is a real boy NOW!"
2. Roma is a cute spunky little thing that is drawn to ROPES, STRINGS, CORDS and basically anything that could potentially choke or strangle her. She wraps them around and around her, because if we intervene to quickly and stop her she SCREAMS till everyones head is bopping around and we've entered the twilight zone. Once she is wrapped to satisfaction and can't bend an arm or leg she will plea for help. Which then we clap and go get a burger...Kidding. I'll have to get a pic next time she calls mercy.
3. These two will hold hands and bounce around together where ever we are. In church, the park, restaruants.. and of course in the car. Roma has BEEN OBSESSED with holding hands since she was born. So Beckham has done a great job at fulfilling her needs since then.
