How bout NO diapers for Christmas?
What a day for you my little Beck man! First time going in the potty. WOOOO hoo. You were so proud of yourself...as was I. We called dad at work and left him a message of accomplishment. "I did it! Yay! New Thomas!" I don't remember a previous "you go pee, you get a new Thomas the train" conversation between us...but BY GOLLY, you can have that Thomas. Nice job. This could be the beginning of the end?. I'm hoping anyways.

Cold Turkey anyone?
This year our Thanksgiving feast took place at the Carter's home. It was most excellent as always to see family and eat delicious food. My favorite is always candied yams and Dave loved his mom's new stuffing recipe. Luckily we had an afternoon feast because the power went out just as we were all dishing up and it was off for almost 2 hours. One of their neighbors came by to see if our power was off as well and said that he was going to fire up the grill and have to finish the turkey there. We all had a laugh but mostly because our food was done.

And...then of course to make the day complete, we needed to see the Bateman/Trujillo side as well. So, we ventured down to my Grandma's and had 3rds on the food and more dessert. yikes. What's bad is that I think I ate even more today with all the left overs than I did yesterday.

I didn't take as many pics but the party was alive and kickin. Roma had a thanksgiving poop-splosion which sounds not so good but with a once a week record, we are now semi-warped and grateful for these things!
*Finally got home and in bed around 1 in the morn. We probably should've just waited in lines with all you crazies and gone straight to shopping.?

Is that you dad?
Hey did you guys know that Dave, my sweet husband was a singer/songwriter with a few recorded CD's? For most of you, this is not new info. and I'm not trying to toot his horn too much But lil' Beckham here just realized that his dad's music and voice can come out of our CD player and our computer. He's heard Dave sing and play plenty of times and even heard his CD's since...well I guess the womb. . But being so little hasn't really understood until recently. It was so cute! I had one of Dave's CD's in Beckham's room next to his other favorite music and would play it for him every so often. This time, while it was playing Beckham kept coming up to me and saying "dad?" while pointing at the player. I explained to him that "ya, that's dad singing and can you hear his guitar?" He was glued to that thing. He sat in front of the player for 2 or 3 songs just staring at it. I thought it was too dang cute.

Now here's my plug?...If you didn't know that Dave Carter could be found on itunes...then get on that....check it out. He also has 3 other CDs under the band name Royce. These CDS are with the ever so talented Adam Record and also have some real favorites.!
I also found some old recordings on Youtube that were making me laugh right out loud. Just cause... for instance, in the video posted Dave has his "record length hair growth" which is not so long and well, he just makes me smile every time I see him sing!! He is the one that is too dang cute! Love you babes...you're a Rockstar!

Sick of being sick!
What a weekend. Poor lil Beck has been sick for the last 5 days. It started 4am Saturday morn with a thrown up happy meal that wasn't so happy anymore. From then on Beckham would throw up just about every hour. It was heartbreaking for Dave and I to see him so sad. He would cry "Mom, Dad, no more, no way." We felt so helpless. He couldn't keep anything down so late Saturday night Dave took him to the emergency room. They gave him some suppositories to help with the nausea and said to keep trying the liquids. I was surprised and relieved that they didn't keep him the night.
He finally started making progress and getting some sleep on Monday.. as did the rest of us. Thank heavens!

I knew he really felt crummy when he didn't want to go outside. I had to talk him into going on a walk yesterday. The weather was just too good.

The poor little guy has had it ROUGH.
After a missed day of work for Dave, plenty of clorox, loads of wash, and movies galore....He FINALLY feels better. Hooray.

So, this morning in celebration, we colored some Thanksgiving pictures...and ran around like Indians. (Too bad Roma was asleep or we would've dressed her up too.)

Motherhood at it's Best.
A while back, I read this on one of my friends blogs. I think about it often and how as a mom you literally feel like you are on the brink of Loony Bin. If you have a cure....by all means share.
*Recently, I was diagnosed with C. A. A. D. D. - Child Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests:
I decide to do the laundry. As I start toward the laundry room, I notice that there are cheerios all over the floor and my car keys are in the cereal bowl. I decide to pick up the cheerios before I do the laundry. I lay my car keys down on the counter, put the cheerios in the trash can under the sink, and notice that the trash can is full. So, I decide to take out the trash. But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the trash I may as well pay the bills first. I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only one check left, my extra checks are in my desk in the office/playroom, so I go to my desk where I find a sippy cup full of juice. I'm going to look for my checks, but first I decide I should put sippy cup in the refrigerator to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the sippy cup, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye --they need to be watered. I set the sippy cup on the counter, and I discover baby wipes that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back in the bedroom, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the wipes back down, fill a container with water and suddenly I spot the TV remote, one of the kids left it on the kitchen table. I realize that once dad gets home from work or someone wants to watch Elmo again, I will be looking for the remote as tears are flowing, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the front room where belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I splash some water on the flowers, but most of it spills on the table. So, I set the remote back down, get some paper towels and wipe up the spill. Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do. At the end of the day: the laundry isn't washed, the bills aren't paid, there is a warm cup of juice sitting on the counter, the flowers aren't watered, there is still only one check in my checkbook, I can't find the remote, I can't find the wipes, and I don' t remember what I did with the car keys. Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail.
*Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming.*
Then again, I'll take "crazy" any day for these two?

Photography
As you know from my last post, I've been "into" some pictures lately. Well, that and some recent conversations got me into a whirl wind of thoughts and questions about "photography".
First of all, I have seen some of THEE cutest family pics posted lately on friends and family's blogs. Where do you guys go? Person and place? and is it expensive and stressful hoping that your kids will be "happy"? I have some friends that are excellent photographers but.... I always wonder if they secretly hate taking friend pics and feeling pressured to give them deal? hmmm. Anyways, I want and need some new Professional family pictures taken and now I'm thinking that we're all going to be pale and the scenery dead? What do you do?
Then, while scanning the old and chatting with the fam, it dawned on me that the photo world has taken some drastic changes. I mean, back when it was ONLY film and the shots were pretty limited... considering cost for 24 exp, I don't think as many photos were taken. And they ALL had to be printed. So, I'm wondering if Nowadays, people still print off their photos and put them in a photo album? Seriously the digi world is crazy and fun. We all have those days where we take a bizillion pics that are all pretty similar but have the hardest time erasing one. Are photo albums and scrap books of the past? OR is it just so easy to get behind in printing them now that the thought of paying that much money and time makes you wanna Barf? haha
After all that, I guess my answer is: PASS on printing pics like these-

and only scrapbook the Good. Ok and goodbye.
P.S. I heard that you can get your blog printed out and made into a hard bound book (blurb.com). I haven't seen one yet but how cool is that?! I'm gonna try it out.

Memory Monday....
This past Saturday, the kids and I ventured to my parents house for a visit. This is a common occurrence for us on the weekends because Dave works Saturdays and by then I'm ready for a change of scenery and a little break from the kids. My fam is always up for playing with the kids so I can relax a bit, run some errands, go to a hair appointment or whatever. This time I decided that it would be fun to scan some of my parents old photos.
As many of you know already Apple/Mac computers are aimed for a creative mind. They've got Garage band for singer songwriter type stuff, Iphoto, IDVD and IMovie for creating music videos and slideshows. Just that much of it has made me crazy about learning how to master each program. I made a highlight video for my soccer team last year on Dave's school computer and then this year on ours. I had limited time and media but with what I had it turned out alright. Since then I've been throwing some of our pics together and learning a lot more. SOO>>>I guess I got a little spark in me to TRY and be one of those "cool video nerds" and make stuff for christmas presents??? or like I said TRY different things out and one day be cool. hah
Wow. anyways. Scanning pics at my parents house turned out to be a riot. I decided that every future visit I will scan at least some of the Bateman photo archive. Just so all the memories are right at my finger tips for creative purposes.
I'm one of those people that loves to watch old family videos and have the "Oh ya, and remember when..." conversations. So, this is exciting for me.
Here are just some of the pics that I scanned so we can go down memory lane together..
BTW- I scanned a lot of my little brother Jay because of course I miss him to death, LOVE him and think that a picture video of his life would be a great thing for all of us to have. He is so dang cute too.

I also got a lot of my ma and pa before they were married and their wedding...pretty cute couple!
