I have been hunting before, plenty of times actually. I'm the oldest kid in my family and my dad is borderline looney bin about every and all types of hunting and fishing...rifle, bow, deer, elk, duck, rodents....It's ironically what keeps the man sane.
SO, being the 1st born I became his little buddy that enjoyed tagging along on many of his trips. My cousins would come along and I honestly loved the adventure and scenery. Although most of the time I was the only girl.
I took hunter's safety with some friends in 5th or 6th grade and my dad bought me a bow and arrow when I was like 12? I don't even think it was for a special occasion.? So I got my first deer tag when I was around the same age and it was for an area in Co. because you could hunt at an earlier age. I'm telling you, my dad is die hard so it didn't take too much effort on my part to have some crazy experiences. I got my first doe with a bow at like 12 or 13...then a buck the next year in Utah. (maybe I can rally up those pics for old time sake? and a laugh or two?)
SINCE THEN- I have not had the time or really a desire to go much. I may have gone twice since then...and didn't get anything.
And that would be my big game killing history.
A side sad story: during that 1st ever hunting experience I actually miss shot and hit a doe in the head that we never found and later saw that it had a fawn by it's side. I honestly thought that I would be forever traumatized. I could not believe that I had to watch something so sad that I had done.
