Easter in pics..1st stop, Gram and Gramp Trujillo's

This was our "age" group for the dart throwing.

Me, grams and gramps.
These two have kept this Easter tradition alive since I was the tiniest grankid. We did egg hunts back then of course...but now since we're old, they've gone to something much more...sophisticated and violent. Each balloon has a "prize" in it so aim is the game.

AND here are my nerdy yet pretty sisters showing their successes.

3 of the 5 Great Grans with their goods. Beckham, Roma and cousin Laird.
Liam and Olive are far and away in AK.

My mother in all her "proud grandma" glory?
She gave Beck and Roma some really cute Easter presents.!

Remember Spring Break?....

Here's someone that apparently had a good time!

We ALL spent some solo time doing things we don't get to do VERY often.

BECKHAM spent his time stuck to the couch watching college basketball and shouting at the teams "GO, SHOOT, OH MISS!" He was so serious about his basketball games that he would resist doing anything else. . so, he ended up wetting thru his diaper and onto the couch. Hopefully his priorities get straightened out with age.

I chose to spend "MY time" freely exercising as I choose. I went on some good long outside runs without having to push two heavy kids in a stroller. AND I got to unhook my bike from the trainer in the living room and GO! It was my first time as a real road biker...all spandexed out that is. It's a bit frightening actually and going to take some getting used to. I rode for a little over a hour and LOVED it.

Dave of course did some fly fishing. He went a few times over the week in Kamas and in Woodland. This is his picture of the "river monster" that he said could've fed a family of 8.
This is the problem with Dave and I taking pics with our cell phones. Didn't you know that they make things look 10 times smaller?
Like the pic of me biking....I really have 10 chins instead of 2 and a half.

Roma Girl....went swimming for her 1st time!

We did have some family happenings too.

Rock Cliff State park

The Aquarium in Sandy.. and I'm blaming this eel for breaking my camera. I was taking a pic of this guy with my real camera and then it just stopped working. "memory card error" WHAT? So all the pics that I hadn't transfered onto the computer are GHANDI. It was shocked and that's my story.

AND finally, we Constructed this sweet looking Easter Bunny House. Thanks shell.

This little bugger is 9 months old....and I can't get enough of her!

Roma, you have officially spent as much time OUT in this crazy ol' world that you spent IN my belly growing organs and fingers and such. And let me just make it clear, that I love YOU so much MORE as a 9 monther then Me as a 9 monther!! (big sigh of relief) You are out and about and off to great places.! ...Like Dr. Seuss, we know your mountain is waiting..
I love that book but definitely not ready for you to "get on your way" quite yet.
Dad took you to the doctor today for your checkup and said you were a champ. Smiling and jabbering to everyone. No shots, but a finger prick to test your iron. You are healthy and strong and growing SO fast. Long hair that we pull up into a fountain on top of your head. You think baby food is for rookies and prove to be pro when you grab for our food and gum it right down. You LOVE your brother and he makes you belly laugh more and louder than all the others. WE LOVE YOU BABY GIRL!

Congrats Mel Bell

It's been quite some time now since Mel and I have really even lived in close proximity.. we go way back though. "Jr. High friends" and were even college roomies for a bit in O town. Time flies but good memories stick around. It was great to see everyone. The wedding ceremony was beautiful, amazing dress, Great photographer, I met Davis, and the dinner was a rockin good time.

I remember going to weddings when I was single and I almost hated them. It made me want to be in LOVE soo bad. Or to have someone there to pinch and squeeze.? haha. Now that I'm an old married soul, I LOVE going to weddings with my main "squeeze." It's like a Love renewal? or a blast back to your own personal wedding day and 1st LOVE giddy feelings.? It always makes me think of creating "perfect" wedding day and if I could change anything about my day, would I? and What?
The answer is YES I think I would change some things.. . I LOVE photography so much more now and I think that I would spend more money and time on that aspect. That's really what you have to look at and remember. Hmm. also. I wish I would've got up and given a speech or something. Thanking everyone. Tears. I love you Mr. D. Carter. Blah Cheese. you know.? and for one last thing..I would've had different earrings or none at all. Mine were not wedding quality? If I had a pic close at hand I'd show but no such a thing.

What do you think about weddings and your wedding? They are really SO cute. And to see Mel's Fabulous wedding video, here's a link to it on facebook. Not sure if it will work but I'm telling you great Photography is a must. I enjoyed hers. Congrats MEL!

Like Father like son

A few weeks ago the kids and I went to our first South Summit High baseball game. Our interest in the game wasn't really on the players but in the new assistant coach #29, Dave Carter. I didn't even remember or think about the fact that baseball coaches wear uniforms just like the team. So, when Dave told me that he had a full on team uniform, I immediately laughed out loud and said "What? Tight pants and all?"

Honestly I was a little giddy about it, just cause he grew up playing baseball and I've seen pics of him but never the real thing of course. So, this was my chance....and he looked good.

Uniforms of any kind really, are attractive on a guy you LOVE..? Right? just saying.

Grandpa Carter was there too so he played some catch with Beckham. They loved every minute of it. I've seen pictures almost identical to these except with Steven throwing the ball to Dave when he was really little. I need to find them and frame both sets together.

Roma and I didn't want to play much ball so we had ourselves a photo shoot in the sunset.
Work it Baby.

Motherhood.

Oh WOW.
Let me start by saying that this week is SPRING BREAK for us. Yes, spring break is something of great and fabulous happenings when you are young, single and still in school. It's kind of like "weekends" as well. Once your married and even more so HAVE KIDS ....these two things, for the most part, go right out the door. The spring break thing for us though is BACK and "parent with kids" exciting, because of course, Dave is a school teacher. A WEEK OF NO WORK = more than 30 minutes or so of actual time together and SO much more time for ourselves as well. It's only monday and I am loving it.

Since kids came into the picture, many Friday nights are spent going grocery shopping with the kids and on the way home stopping for Wendy's or some ice cream. And that's the highlight of the weekend. Another option could be taking turns going to the gym. I've been at the gym on a weekend night and thought to myself..."hmm, why is it SO empty?" I guess other people still have lives on weekends? The gym not being a part of their weekend agenda? I'm not complaining, just noting that it is our blessed SPRING BREAK and we will be seriously enjoying our time off at home. It's more money and a LOTTA more energy when planning a successful get away with the kids. Often times not worth it.? This is why we opted out this year.
BUT hey, I'm psyched because we may do something completely out of the ordinary and go on a DATE...that's right. Maybe even to a kids museum one night or swimming as a family?
If you don't know already weekends and spring breaks are a bit different once the babies come. Fun. Yes. BUT a world different.

What got me thinking about this more was Oprah today. It was ALL about motherhood and the REAL life hilariousness/pain it can be. I was laughing pretty hard about most of the stories on it because I could totally relate. Kids throwing fits, birthday parties, and even post body and sex... I'm telling you it was funny. Motherhood can definitely bring out the best and the worst in you.
