Where do you go?

Running is one of my favorite things to do.
Running with music is magical.
For me, I get so tired that shutting my brain off to the sweat, people around me, the clock, breathing, and my feet IS a must.
This is why music makes running addicting. For me. I need a good drift.
You know when a certain song has a place and an emotion behind it.

Old 97's come on. I immediately go back to my semester at Utah state when I was MADly in love with Dave Carter. We knew that we were going to get married. He was in Ogden. I was in Logan and I missed his little face every day. I would listen to this little song and get giddy about the day he would ask me the "question." I remember the "cheesy" cute conversations we would have about the day when we wouldn't have to say good bye at the end of the night. ... OR

The Get Up Kids and Dashboard Confessional days...When I was totally single and so spontaneous with my adventures. I remember singing these songs full blast in the bathroom while getting ready. My roommates where so much fun. We went to both of these guys concerts and sang our little brains out. I would go camping, snowboarding or just anywhere with friends and we would leave the music playing from the car while we were just hanging out.

SO many songs and whole albums will remind me of Dave and the fun times that we had while living in Oregon. We listened to a lot of Pedro the Lion, Elliot Smith, and Tom Waits. Dave introduced me to all of these bands and they have since become some of my favorites. I would laugh SO hard when Dave would sing EVERY word to Tom Waits with the Voices and everything. I thought both of them where crazy.

One of my favorite songs that pops up on the IPod mid run is a Wilco song called Jesus Etc. I listened to this SO many times while dancing in the ocean surf on my days off. Just grooving while picking up agates and shells.....Oh the days.

Music is a little time machine and I love it.

You've got a friend in me!

I hope these two continue to have so much fun together. I consider my siblings some of my best friends! When I was a teenager and always out with friends, my dad used to say "Friends come and go, but family is forever." I would answer sarcastically back with, "ya, I know. That's why I'm going to hang out with friends, they MAY not last forever!."
Cherish good friends and always cherish your family... relationships within family are the ones that do have a lasting effect whether for the good or bad. .... anyways. Here are some cutsie pictures.

My buddy Mac.

Poor Mac is not receiving the internet and has been causing us all grief for the past 4 days. Boo hoo! I have a jumble of good stories to be had and this blackberry makes it more difficult. I could try but there are those times that I'll spend a good amount of time 'texting' a blog and then it vanishes to cyber oblivion. NOT COOL. Which is where I'm guessing my internet went?
My neighbor, Mr. WiFi, that is really in control of Mac's fate is MIA so we all wait.
Until then, I want to share one of my new favorite reads. Which some of you, I know, are already following. It is a blog that is so inspiring and very easy to get caught up in. The address is http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/ I have the link on my page as NIENIE.

It is a must read!
Basic background: Stephanie(27?) writes, originally from Utah, moved to AZ. with her husband and family. She has 4 kids, the youngest is like 2 or so.
Her husband and her where burned badly in a small plane crash just Sept. Of last year. She got the worst of it. 85% of her body. Coma for awhile. Her sisters from Utah have been taking care of the kids and updating the blog. Now she lives back in Utah to recover, heal and be close to family. She just started writing again not too long ago.
Like I said, really inspiring and she has a way with words. Anyways, read up.

Oh Bla DEE, OH bla DAH....Life goes oooonnn.

More sundays than not, I spend a good part of the day at church meetings. Dave is left at home with the kids, to feed, dress and then try to prepare his lesson that he teaches to a bunch of texting seniors. Our church starts at 12:30 now, which of course falls right into that "brain shutting down" slot called NAP TIME. Pure torture for kids but I'd say probably worse for the parents that choose to keep them awake. Church is supposed to be a peaceful, spiritual time and I've come to accept as a mother of 2 young kids, that this is now a distant dream?. Church is exhausting. Period.

A week ago, sunday, Beckham was so upset in nursery (who knows why the ladies didn't come and get Dave or I) he threw a fit, crying and bull dozing the floor until he 1-he got a pretty sweet looking rug burn on his nose and 2-just passed out asleep face down on the floor. How sad is that? I felt like a bad mom for not checking in on him or something but I was feeding kid #2 carrots and applesauce in the foyer across the way. That was by far his worst experience but I'm just saying, to be an active member with young kids is a struggle. Even when your kid does decide(get forced) to stay in nursery.
When the closing prayer is said and one of us stops chasing Beckham through the church...we always look at each other with googley eyes and say "Welp, there's another one down."

As I said, more times than not, it's rough.

I remember being a kid and not wanting to brush my teeth, make my bed or do my homework. And, I think of my mom telling me that "sometimes we do things that we don't always want to do!." But we do them because we know that we're supposed to and we will become a "healthier, more responsible, smarter..." person because of it. I know that going to church is where I am supposed to be and I know that my family will be happier and blessed by doing so. Even if I do only get bits and pieces of the lessons or talks, I feel an honest confirmation that I'm in the right place and doing what the lord would have me do.
I guess I just wanted to put it in writing, so that maybe I could look back on it when I'm about crazy and asking myself, "Why?"

*I also believe that things that are right are often times harder to do.
"He never said it would be easy, He said it would be worth it."

Now the original reason for this post is seen below:
This is Live Footage and photos of the super Roma on one of the Sundays that DAD picked out her clothes. I think it's cute to get home and see what outfit he's put her in.
