I just finished eating this and honestly it was good stuff! Dave isn't here to say otherwise. He's not a huge fan of wild animal meat. .. But the kids ate it up, which was awesome. :) I think he'll be a fan this time though..mmmm.
I'd bet it would be hard to eat something that you actually had a relationship with or I guess spent a fair amount of time with. Like a cow, pig or chicken.? I wouldn't know.
This elk was up close and personal with me but only for a bit, and mostly after it had passed on. I'm glad we didn't really bond.

beautiful day!
Get outside and soak up some rays! It works wonders on a wintery spirit. Spring is just around the Corner. Hooray. Hope it brings a buyer for our place.

Clink, Clink, Clink.
HEY. Does this thing still work?
Let me start by saying, Boy do I wish front doors unlocked with the push of a key button, the way that car doors do!
How nice would that seriously be?
Just before I threw away my unaccomplished to do list and sat in this swivel chair, I was struggling to open the house door with a sleeping dead weight 3 year old in one arm, a diaper bag in the other and another sleeper in the car. I'm sure it's already a feature for the rich and the famous..? Maybe I could get one for my birthday.? This is just one of the things I thought could make life just a bit easier.
SO......LONG TIME NO SEEEEEEE.
I didn't even give a written farewell speech to 2009. Dang. It has been quite a while. Christmas is already blurry for me. I may have to post a few pics for memory sakes.
Speaking of memories....some major reasons for my blog hiatus include documenting MANY hours of memories. Back in November I took on two projects that I had wanted to do for quite some time. 1) Converting old family VHS videos to DVD and 2) turning my blog into a hard bound book.
It just turned out that I was doing both of these at the same time. I wanted the DVD's to be part of my parents Christmas present and the blog book was just over due and sounded fun. Basically my computer and TV were bogged down and on 24 hours a day for like 2 1/2 mths. NO LIE. They got occasional shut down breaks just for a day or so because I was nervous I was breaking them.
As for the VHS to DVD process...It was a lot of trial and error at first with different recording options and programs but once I got in the groove, it was pretty smooth. Just took A LOT of time. The average time to convert one 4 hour VHS to an edited/cut DVD made on imovie was about 16 hours. This is on my sweet 08 Mac desktop too. When all was said and done-for me anyways- I had made over 60 DVDs. This included: Christmas's/and parties, Halloweens, Easters, My brother's life, and my bdays and Dance. And I'd bet that is only HALF of my parents collection. Not even exaggerating- Most of my entire life is documented on video. and YES. it was frightening at times.
About 6th/7th grade was rough for me. haha. The button up tank tops, knee length rolled shorts, black basketball shoes and THEE best BIG bangs ever. Wow. It was entertaining.
My final opinion about family videos is to TAKE THEM. I felt pretty lucky to have some of those memories back. I had forgotten a TON. And maybe this is cheesy, but I also learned a lot about my parents, grandparents, interactions with others, etc. As an understatement, I really enjoyed the process and I'm so glad that my parents chose to save those memories.. . . . Although, WE ALL KNOW.....some memories are meant to be blurred or just plain forgotten. :)
The Blog book took more time than I had thought but turned out awesome. I used blurb.com. and recommend it for all you that want to do the same.
*I did book #1 which went from Sept. 2007-July 2008
*It was 137 pages
*Hardbound 8x10 w/no dust cover
*cost $60
Makes blogging seem SO much more worth it.
Here are some pics. From then and now.

Today this goober is crackin me right up

For one, her hair is out of control. Its like a giant spider web stuck to her head. She was trying to put on her sunglasses and they kept getting caught in her curls. I was dying. regardless, the bigger and crazier her hair is the better. It is SO dang cute.
Then, she's got these big ol lips that are to die for. Especially when mine are tiny fish lips. anyways, she's got cheesy chip residue all over them and is Loving life. Pretty funny them kids they are.

Rockin the sick.
Poor Roma and Beckham have been sick for a combined time of two and a half weeks. Croup for sure with Beckham and possibly RSV for Rome? Idk, We're going to the doctor today to see what's up. I haven't taken them because their fevers have come and gone and breathing was much better. But now lil Romes fever is back and both just can't get over this gagging mucous cough. Its tough on them for sure but I just have to say that its rockin mine and Dave's world too. Sleep, sanity and outside adventures are far and few. Hopefully the doc will have some remedies and we'll be back to the sweet life in no time.
Although, on a positive note, extra snuggling time with kids is always nice.
Here we are as I write this. Wish us luck.
