A day of mourning
A sad passing indeed:
Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.
Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.
Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.
Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.
The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
Just a little something that made me giggle. . Don't be a Crusty buns this Holiday.

Tis the Season...for sweets!
December is busy for everyone I'm sure! Just the thinking that goes into parties, gifts, cards, postage, decorations and staying warm is A LOT to handle. This past week I have been baking with one of my friends here in town that is also from Centerville. We have good times talking about crazy small town living and the things we miss. But that is beyond the point.. back to the treats.
We dipped pretzels in homemade caramel and chocolate

Then she taught me how to make butter mints, which was so fun. They are very temperamental, in that the consistency is very hard to get right. You pull them like taffy, add flavoring and cut them with scissors then they have to "cure". It's interesting. If they turn out..they are "melt in your mouth" addicting.

I made some Pretzel munchies at home and then spent time putting all of this in cute little bags to share.

Like I said, Tis the Season!
Annual cookie night.
Each year, usually the first weekend in December, my mom's side of the family gets together at Grandma and Grandpa's house for some major cookie decorating. It's always been such a fun tradition to look forward to. Grandma spends A lot of time and powdered sugar to make everyones frosting. She had some help coloring it this year so we had a few new colors. mmmm. That frosting is THEE best. I ended up 3x-ing grandma's cookie recipe which made 40 or so cookies.? I never ended up counting them.

Josh and Anna came over for a bit and helped cut the cookies

Baby, its cold outside!
Ok so, I have a lot of pics to put on this blog and stories to be had BUT... I am just out of time lately or too dang tired. I'm actually 'working' at the moment and blogging from my phone. Working you ask? Well if you don't know already, pumping IS indeed my part time job! Baby milk pumping that is. 17 hours a week is no joke. And I want christmas vacation time in the worst way. (big sigh)
Anyways, until I get to the computer, I'll leave you with this quote from Davey baby.
As he walks in the house from tithing settlement-'Brr! It is COLD outside! And just getting colder!'
Me, over the loud breathing of my pump-'oh ya?'
Dave-'In fact, It is cut your cow open and sleep inside of it cold!'
Then he lays on the heater with a blankie and falls asleep in point 5 seconds.

Happy Birthday little Brother!

Here are a few things that I think about on this special day.
-How fast time flies and how I can't believe that I would have a 23 year old brother.
-My sweet parents and their incredible strength over the years. Especially now that I am a parent, I have a different perspective.
-I wonder if Jay really knows how much he's helped me and motivated me in my life decisions.
-How blessed I am to have the gospel in my life and to have that knowledge that I will see him agian.
-Life is definitely a blessing and to Love love love those that are important in our lives...Now.
